Teaching Who Are Arab Americans?

Who Are Arab Americans?

Although there have been Arabs in North America since before the establishment of the United States, it was not until 1870s that Arabs began migrating to the Unites States in significant numbers. Scholars estimate that by World War II, there were at least 350,000 people of Arab descent in the US. The contemporary Arab American community originates from this early wave of immigration, as well as from a second wave of immigration that began after World War II and continues today.
